Joanne Tunnicliffe

I am delighted to participate in this year’s Bucks Art Week this year.
I have always been passionate about Art since I was at school enjoying creative projects, whether that has been designing and decorating my own homes, being a member of the Vauxhall Camera club many years ago or designing make-up and sets for pantomimes in the West End as a hobby when I worked for a large Accounting Firm to designing and making my own jewellery/silversmithing, which I have recently returned to at South Hill Park Arts Centre. Over the past 5 years I have further developed my creative talent by joining a local weekly art group, as well as taking courses with the London Drawing Group, Tate Britain, Newlyn Art School (Cornwall), a number of courses with St Ives School of Painting, culminating in the intensive 6 month Porthmeor Programme last year and attending the Apollon Art School in Florence last summer.
I have also completed a number of 1:1 courses with artists Lynn Keddie (3 months Abstraction) and Kieran Styles. Last Easter I was fortunate enough to be able to return to India after many years and recently attended a course with Art of Jaipur (Indian Block Printing) and an on-line course with LDG learning about the Indian way of making handmade sustainable ink and paper. My passion has always been landscapes (Country and urban) and people. I love travelling and enjoying different cultures and was lucky enough to be commissioned a set of 12 postcards for the beautiful Greek island of Kastellerizo last summer, where many of my cards ended up travelling as far as Australia and to the rest of Europe.
Back in December, after much reflection, I felt it was time to take a leap of faith and apply to present some of my work to the Bucks Art Week and I am so excited to have been accepted and offered a place this year at the Fair.
I work in different types of medium (oil, acrylic, watercolour, charcoal, pencil, ink and lino cut print). I will be showing a selection of my paintings, sketchbooks, Indian Block Printing work and a small collection of jewellery and would love it if you were able to support me and fellow artists on this journey by attending the exhibition.
